Being Involved

I feel like my wife is doing everything for the baby, and I am barely involved. Do you have any advice for me?

Our Daddy MD Guide’s reply: My best advice would be to help your wife however you can, but don’t beat yourself up over involvement with the baby. Many fathers feel underwhelmed with having an infant or toddler, but women love babies.

I don’t think I have ever seen a group of men asking to take turns holding a baby. Your role with babies is nowhere near as fun as when they are older, and you can play sports, teach them to ride a bike, build Legos, play practical jokes on mom, and play video games! Wait a few years, and it will be your time to shine.
