Having Another Baby

How do you know when it’s time to have another child?

Our Daddy MD Guide’s reply: This question comes about every day, and it’s one that my wife and I certainly grappled with when deciding when  to have our second child. The answer is frequently evasive, and commonly divisive, but always deeply personal. Never look to a professional to tell you when the time is right, but maybe look for advice regarding when the time is wrong. I recommend waiting at least six months before becoming pregnant, although it is likely safe at three. I also caution women that while safe, breastfeeding is frequently more difficult while pregnant. Remember that babies don’t come until nine months after conception, and that “hyper-planning” often results in frustration.
